Just in general: What is the/your main statement of your/the band name THE FAST FORWARDS >>?

We’re speedy mother f***ers! No, there really is no statement. It’s just a name, I mean what the fuck is “The Pigeon Detectives”? A name, period. Our songs have all kinds of different statements but the band name is just a band name.

What can you tell us from your first tour through Austria – any special highlights or any anecdotes for life? Have you got already plans to come back again?

It took some serious getting used to waking up and not knowing what city you’re in, but it was great. And people in Austria are great. Just really outgoing, music loving people. That trip is kind of blurry right now to be honest. We’ll come down in October again to do some shows around Austria and Germany, ask us about the anecdote then and we’ll have something to tell for sure.

Who is the greatest musician from Sweden of all time and why?

There’s all sorts of great old musicians from Sweden, like Jan Johansson and Olle Ljungström, but you’ve never heard of them so… ABBA?

What are the advantages of making music in Sweden? What is harming the evolution of modern music in your country?

Whether this is an advantage or harmful evolution wise is hard to say, but people are really really really into trends in Sweden, and Stockholm in particular. So they really only want to listen to the newest, hippest stuff, generally. It’s cool because it brings music forward, but it’s bad because a lot of it is complete shit.

Can you please tell us: What makes your sound unique? Where do you hide the special ingredients?

We don’t really have one sound. Or maybe we do, but we always try to get away from it. Maybe that’s “unique”. Or maybe it’s just schizophrenic behaviour, who knows. In a year from now we’ll probably sound a whole lot different than we do right now. And about the ingredients… Gabriel says it’s in the milk.

How was the work with musicians from Mando Diao and what can we expect from this collaboration in the near future concerning releases, touring, etc.?

Work was ace, and a single recorded in their studio is on its way called Felicia. We got along quite well. There was kind of a worry they would be all rock stari-sch and hard to deal with but they were just really nice laid back, creative people. Good lads. We’ll keep the rest a little secret for now.

If you were an animal, which one would you be?

A cat! They’re independent and do things on their own terms, like us.

Take one word out of “sex, drugs and rock ´n´roll”- and why that one?

Rock´n´roll! Sex and drugs are just things that may enhance your view on life temporarily, eventually you’re going to have to stop. Music is forever.

Finish the sentence: I’m going on a trip and I’m taking … with me.

We do not in any way co-operate with Apple, but the I-phone has to be present. It’s a lovely little music making machine, that thingy.

Where would you go, if you don’t want to be found?

Our rehearsal place! It’s in the ghetto, so no one in their right mind would go there voluntarily. Maybe that’s where we get the raw sound from.
