Manifesting superhuman force through near-magic sonic alchemy, Ho99o9 consistently break free from any and all creative constraints. The duo — theOGM and Yeti Bones — co-mingle genres like chemicals, mixing gloriously hellish hip-hop, basement-born hardcore, future-facing punk, throat-slitting metal, jarring industrial, and off-kilter electronica into a concoction meant to combust the moment you press play — or when they hit the stage.
As such, the group has quietly haunted the darkest corners of culture, peeking out with a series of unanimously acclaimed releases, A-list collaborations, and sold-out tours. In 2025, they make a statement with their third full-length album, Tomorrow We Escape — a 999 Deathkult / Last Gang Records / MNRK debut.
“We knew these tunes were emotional, so everything fell into place with the title Tomorrow We Escape,” reveals Yeti Bones. “From there, it was like a flower bloomed. You could be escaping mental issues, problems with drugs, or bad situations. It’s up to the listener.”
“When we started this process, we knew we wanted to make more relatable songs,” adds theOGM. “It was a healthy challenge to focus on emotion. In the past, a lot of our material was politically charged. That element is present to a degree, but we wanted to take a more personal route. Everybody has a struggle — the goal is to find motivation for preservation.”
The New Jersey-bred outfit relocated to Los Angeles over a decade ago. Surging and seething just below the surface, the pair broke through as an apocalyptically fascinating outlier with their 2017 debut, United States of Horror — hailed by DIY as “incomparable to anything else being made right now.”
Their infamous live shows have since become the stuff of legend, packing houses worldwide and sharing stages with Slipknot, Korn, Alice In Chains, Rob Zombie, Ministry, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Lil Uzi Vert, Denzel Curry, Cypress Hill, and Ghostface Killah. Their collaborations span Corey Taylor (Slipknot), The Prodigy, JPEGMAFIA, Ghostemane, HEALTH, 3TEETH, and N8NOFACE, among others. They’ve appeared alongside Jack Black in their KULT CABLE series and on The Eric Andre Show. The New York Times dubbed them “an all-out barrage,” while The Quietus, The FADER, and Revolver have all praised their uncompromising vision.
Building Tomorrow We Escape between Los Angeles and Paris, the duo meticulously refined its sound.
“After our last tour, we came back to some early ideas and revamped them,” says theOGM. “The concept came together, and we fleshed out newer songs.”
“We’re old-school music lovers who listen to albums straight through with no skips,” adds Yeti Bones. “That was our intent.”
The album’s first single, “Upside Down,” produced by Yung Skrrt, blends frenetic keys, warped guitars, and a neck-snapping beat beneath woozy melodies.
“Your life is spiraling down,” explains Yeti Bones. “Everything’s going each and every way, and you can’t control it. Heaven is down, Hell is up — and you’re in the middle.”
“You’re holding up a mirror to yourself and asking, ‘Who are you?’” adds theOGM. “Sometimes, you’ve got to check yourself.”
Other highlights include “Incline,” featuring production from Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Jane’s Addiction, Wale) and appearances from Yung Skrrt, Nova Twins, and Pink Siifu. On “Target Practice,” co-produced by Sam Matlock (Wargasm) and Charlie Russell, the duo deliver a furious statement of intent:
“This ain’t metal. This ain’t trap. Give a f*** where you at. Give a f*** where you from. Bitch, I’m telling all the facts.”
Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan) appears on “Tapeworm,” while Chelsea Wolfe lends her haunting vocals to “Immortal,” a ghostly ballad that reveals the group’s more vulnerable side. The record concludes with the epic “Godflesh,” a firestorm of punk, metal, and glitch — an apocalyptic finale that embodies Ho99o9’s defiance and endurance.
“We end every show with a bang,” says theOGM. “‘Godflesh’ pays homage to some of our old work — talking about what’s happening in our country and how we feel about people in charge. There’s nothing you can do to destroy me.”
In the end, Tomorrow We Escape represents everything Ho99o9 was always meant to be — raw, fearless, and uncontainable.
“As much as this record is for new audiences, it’s also for the ride-or-die fans who have rocked with us from the jump,” says theOGM. “The message is: be present.”
“We’re really showing everyone who we are personally,” concludes Yeti Bones. “We bleed the same blood.”
