Artifacts (group) : “The Artifacts are a cult Hip Hop group from Newark, New Jersey, consisting of El Da Sensei, Tame One and DJ Kaos. Their music reflects and emphasizes three of the four elements of true hip-hop culture: MCing, DJing, and their specialty, graffiti writing or ‚bombing‘; both Tame One and El Da Sensei are proficient at all three. The group released one of the all time great graffiti songs in 1994’s ‘Wrong Side of Da Tracks’. With unique styles that play off each other well, Tame and El’s graf-rap was well-received by underground audiences and continued in the Jersey rap tradition of Redman and Lords of the Underground.“

Edo G : “Boston hip-hop legend Edo G has nothing left to prove. With his pair of debut singles “I Gotta Have It” and “Be a Father to Your Child” in 1991, Edo introduced himself to the world as a unique MC, one able to deliver both sharp social commentary and reality-based raps with slick rhymes and wit to spare. Having collaborated with legends like DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Masta Ace over a two-decade career, his status in the game is undisputed. But on A Face in the Crowd, Edo returns to mark the 20-year anniversary of his first album with a hunger to bring real hip-hop back to the forefront. Led by the single “ I Was There” His Boston-based Special Teamz crew of Jaysaun (Kreators) and Slaine (La Coka Nostra), the album features guest appearances from Bishop Lamont, Chali 2Na, and M1 (dead prez), with production from DJ Premier, Statik Selektah, Explizit One, M Phases, The Breaks, Young Cee and others.“

Reks : “Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, street lyricist Corey Isiah Christie, better known as just Reks, started out as a breakdancer in his teens and was part of a local B-boy crew called Funk Town Connection. By the time he entered college at University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Reks had built a reputation for himself in the local Boston rap scene, but then eventually quit school to begin recording for Brick Records. A few 12′ singles, ‚I Could Have Done More‘ and ‚Fearless,‘ arrived first in early 2001, before Brick issued his debut LP, Along Came the Chosen, later that year. A cult favorite in Beantown rap circles, the album earned Reks nominations for Hip-Hop Album and Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards.“ ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
