Scott Allan Knost (Acoustic/Rock)
Performing nearly 1400 shows in 8 years, Scott Allan Knost has been busy making his mark. Playing in bars, coffee houses and auditoriums through 29 states and 9 countries, he’s been bringing new fans in to the fold with his brand of percussive, acoustic rock.
Based in Wichita, Kansas, SAK has been playing in various groups most of his life, some gaining radio play and touring throughout the midwest. In 2005, he began going to open mics and singing some of his original songs, written quietly in hotel rooms.
Gaining some attention, he then decided to fulfill a lifelong dream and started his professional solo career in March 2007, living solely on income generated from honorariums, royalties and merchandise.
Incorporating looping, delay, and swirling harmonies built in real time, SAK presents catchy tunes, clever lyrics and masterful performances that will have you convinced that there’s an entire band on stage.
He has shared the stage with Martin Sexton, Uncle Kracker, Rehab, Casey Donahew, Andy Griggs, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Kip Winger, Britny Fox, Jackson Taylor & The Sinners, Mike McClure, Sunny Ledfurd, Rich O’Toole, Truckstop Honeymoon, John Berry & Buddy Jewell.
A person in attendance at a SAK show can expect to find an intimate and engaging performance of original work with choice interpretations of Cyndi Lauper, John Mayer, MGMT and Prince, to name a few.

SAK has just released his latest acoustic EP, “This Is A Movement”. Two full production EPs engineered by Micajah Ryan (Colin Hay, Guns N’ Roses) will follow later in 2013, coupled with a publishing deal with Naughty Dog Publishing.
He’s currently preparing for a 2014 tour of Asia, South Africa and Europe.

Man wurde geboren, erinnert sich an nichts. Datum und Zeit weiß man, weil man des Lesens kundig und im Besitz einer Geburtsurkunde ist. Aufgewachsen hauptsächlich am Land. In der Kindheit war, wie in so vielen, unzähligen anderen Fällen auch, Fußballspielen viel interessanter, als dem Vortrag der Klavierlehrerin zu lauschen. Später findet man, Rockstar zu werden hört sich definitiv besser an, als …Turniertänzer zu bleiben. Man schafft sich Gitarre und Verstärker an, notwendigerweise gegen den Willen der Eltern. Bands, Proberäume und all die Dinge die damit einhergehen folgen mit der eben gleichen Notwendigkeit, mit der das Interesse am Gitarrenspiel und der Liedermacherei ins Unendliche zu wachsen scheint und die Ambitionen in der Schule sich eher gegen den Nullpunkt bewegen. Man maturiert dennoch zum großen Erstaunen der Allgemeinheit. Diesem folgt ein wunderbares Jahr als Zivildiener, in dem man nicht nur viele lustige und weniger lustige Dinge seiner Existenz kennenlernt, sondern auch plötzlich wirklich viele Konzerte gibt. Man lernt leben und lieben. Man lernt, dass sich über verlorene Liebschaften die besten Lieder schreiben lassen. Also verliert man und schreibt. Ein Umzug nach Wien folgt. Man schreibt noch immer. Oder vielleicht auch schon wieder. Plötzlich hat man ungeahntes Glück und eine CD. Und hofft. Denn das tut man meistens.
