iLLBiLLY HiTEC feat. LONGFINGAH (berlin) LIVE
iLLBiLLY HiTEC started production as a trio of Longfingah, Alex and Thomas in 2008. Longfingah and Alex knew each other from a ska punk band they used to play in for more then 10 years. Thomas teamed up later as a dj for a band called Longfingah ft. Rude Riddim. So all of them had experience playing in bands with plenty of members, which normally causes long discussions about everything, also makes travel difficult.
For iLLBiLLY HiTEC they decided to minimize the musicians in order to travel the world, but explore the possibilities of using electronics in reggae music instead. So work on their first show started…
The release of their first EP caused a lot of positive feedback from all parts of the world, which really surprised the band. Within the year, remixes of the EPs tunes have been made and released as mp3 or on vinyl. Invitation to shows all over Europe, India and Mexico followed.
Due to an intensive tour of Longfingah with his reggae band the “Dub Engineers”, iLLBiLLY HiTEC started work with different Emcees such as Brother Culture or Zhi MC. Sometimes they even toured as a duo, going more into instrumentals and dubs.
Longfingah of course was always welcome to join them again, and joined them again in summer 2011. As an positive effect, iLLBiLLY HiTEC since then works with different vocal artists in production and also live.
