The Stepkids

The Love Movement presents a highlight, a night full of advanced live-funk!

The Stepkids are futuristic electro soul recorded on a reel-to-reel; soaring harmonies sung by three singer/songwriters. Classical and jazz musicians by trade and training, bassist Edinberg, guitarist Jeff Gitelman and drummer Tim Walsh went from working in classical and jazz groups to touring with a deluge of original and nationally known acts. The most notable has been Gitelman’s guitar work for 50 Cent, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill. The Stepkids, though, represent more than an opportunity to mash up their various influences of soul, funk and gospel. The band is probably their first real chance at total creative control. Live, kaleidoscopic projections by experimental video artist Jesse Mann consume the stage with light for a multi-sensory experience.We warmly welcome back the masters from Tokyo, Cro-Magnon!Shigekazu Otake(Drums), Tsuyoshi Kosuga(Guitar&Bass), and Takumi Kaneko (Keys) established a solid reputation for their unique, non-stop (DJ-like) live showcase blending all good parts of disco, house, dub, jazz and funk into one impelling live dance-experience.

Dj Mitsu The Beats, a Sendai native, is one of the most respected hip-hop ambassadors outta Japan, making waves worldwide with his first class productions and supreme Dj skills. He is definitely one of our favorite DJs and producers, so you better don´t miss on one of his outstanding dj-sets!
