The Hara

THE HARA returns with their dark and intoxicating new single, “Stay,”and the news that they have signed toMascot Records(DinosaurPile-Up, Calva Louise, Defects, VOLA). Watch the video for StayHERE.They are also bringing their electrifying sonic assault on the road, supporting Nothing More in Europe, As December Falls intheUK inOctober and November, on top of festival appearances at 2000 Trees (UK), Boomtown (UK), and Mighty Sounds Festival (Czech Republic). They have also announced a 10-date co-headline tour of Europe with Call Me Amour from 8-20 November, calling through theNetherlands, Austria, Czech Republic and Germany.Tickets will go on sale at 10am CET on 27 June and are availableHERE.Josh Taylor, Zack Breen, and Jack Kennedy’s raucous genre mash-up of alternativerock, metalcore, and emo has seen them grab attentionand pick up support tours with Nothing More, Escape the Fate, and Ice Nine Kills over the last year while dropping the singles The Systemand Trophy. The Manchester trio have built a formidable live reputation, which has led to them supporting pop-punk giants Sum 41, andthey’ve exploded across the festival circuit with performances at Download, Slam Dunk, 2000 Trees, Kendal Calling, TRNSMT, Tramlines,Truck, and an incredible main stage set at both Reading and Leeds Festival, and Rock For People (Czech Republic).Co-written with close friend Kid Brunswick, “Stay” showcases THE HARA’s continued ability to meld fresh, alternative metal withlyricaldepth, creating a more mature take on their recognisablesoundscape. From the moment Taylor opens with, „Are you holding on, Are youholding on for me, Cos you’re still in my lungs. It’s suffocating me,“ you are immediately drawn into his vulnerability, which derails youbefore being disorientated and catapulted between the angst-ridden metal climaxes and his tender openness. The track finds vocalist and lyricist Josh Taylor grappling with the suffocating toxicity of a damaging relationship. The desperate desire tocling to that which hurts you is mirrored inthe musicality, with delicate, fragile verses that are then shattered by heavy, chugging guitarsand thunderous drums. This hard-hitting track is an exploration of both vulnerability and destruction. The themes of abandonment and dependency are brought tolife through a suite of visuals that draw inspiration from ghost stories andGothic, vampiric romance. A music video in a forgotten and decaying nunnery creates a haunting sense of despair and an eerieuneasethroughout. Artwork and photography by CosmicJoke, captured in the gothic corners of Whitby, bring to life and reflect the vampiricnature of a parasitic relationship.Their explosive and theatrical swagger, which blends elements of Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, I Prevail, Limp Bizkit, Band Omensand Falling In Reverse, has seen them pick up support from Kerrang!, Dork, Clash, Kerrang! Radio and BBC Radio 1’s Introducing and FutureAlternative shows.Fresh from a sold-out UK headline tour at the start of the year, THE HARA are looking to build on the success of singles “Trophy” and “TheSystem” by launching “Stay” in tandem with a summer of festivals and supporting metal giants, Nothing More and As December Falls.
