The Dead Man Orchestra

The DEAD MAN ORCHESTRA is a five-piece rock band from the morbid town of Vienna.
 
Knowing each other for almost two decades the five musicians decided to set up their ultimate line-up in 2010. DMO is comprised of Christian Prehsler (vocal, guitar, keys), Jan Pokorny (blues harp, guitar, rain barrel, percussion), Dieter Holzer (vocal, guitar, mandolin), Florian Frankl (bass, banjo), and Markus Haschny (drums, percussion). Influenced by such diverse artists as Blind Melon, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Waits, Primal Scream, the Foo Fighters and many more, they brought their resources together to explore the possibilities of handmade music today.
 
In their fiery liveshows you are able to witness bodypainted skulls, necromantic ceremonies, sonic card tricks and the blues.
 
Their music features danceable rock music, soaked in 90s grunge with a flavor of dirty old men blues on top of it. What you get is sometimes dark but always catchy. We don´t speak about your regular indie/alternative/whatsoever – band.
