Propertea | traditional music from across Europe am 31. July 2026 @ Frau Mayer.

Propertea is a 10-member ethno-folk music ensemble from Slovenia. The group consists of six violins, two guitars, a cello, and a double bass, complemented by vocal performances from several members.

Founded in 2008 under the mentorship of music teacher Polona Udovič at the Grosuplje Music School, the ensemble was created to offer young musicians a different approach to making music and exploring their creativity beyond the classical curriculum. In 2019, after more than a decade of successful activity, Propertea became independent, joined the Cultural Society Stična, and underwent its final membership changes, evolving into the line-up that continues to perform today.

Propertea’s repertoire is rooted in traditional music from across Europe, with a special focus on Slovenian folk heritage. Their performances feature folk melodies and songs from Ireland, Belgium, France, Serbia, Romania, Slovenia, and many other countries, presented through original arrangements that combine youthful energy with respect for tradition.

The ensemble performs regularly at concerts, festivals, and cultural events throughout Slovenia and abroad. Over the years, they have appeared at a wide variety of venues, ranging from jazz clubs, cafés, and concert halls to outdoor stages and international festivals, including the renowned Floating Castle Festival. Among their most notable achievements are two guest appearances with the internationally acclaimed Slovenian folk group Terrafolk at Cankarjev dom, Slovenia’s premier cultural and congress centre.

In addition to their live performances, Propertea has released four albums: Music To Go, Feet the Music, Live, and Godalno omrežje.

Above all, the members value the joy of making music together. Their goal is simple: to share that enjoyment with audiences and create memorable musical experiences wherever they perform.
