IRON CURTIS
Iron Curtis’ pieces originate in a place simultaneously tuned to the sounds of Detroit, Chicago and Hamburg. In his home town of Nurnberg, Johannes Paluka is more familiarly known under his surname, which he goes by at the turntable. Intertwining Deep-House with soulful Techno in a disturbingly enchanting manner, his sound moves in the equilibrium of reduced, but never minimal. Flashes of kitsch brighten the dark universe of Iron Curtis, but fail to interfere with the melancholy subtext. Profound music for the dance floor! He is currently living in Berlin and releasing for Mirau, Morris Audio, and Mule Electronic.
KSOUL
Record collector since 1988, and a deep involvelvement in his hometown music scene ; Ksoul began spinnin’ records in 1992 in a few clubs and rave parties & worked in a record shop. He moved to London in 1997 to follow his vocation and increase his musical experience. After a first phase, working mostly in the music business as a record seller and promoter for a well known venue in Italy, he started djing in various clubs in London and on his own house music radio show on Pyrotechnic Radio. Moving back to Italy after a short span in Paris, he released, thanks to the Ksoul & Ra.h project, his first records for Patrice Scott’s excellent Sistrum recordings ( Detroit ) and Morphine records; getting extremely positive props from record shops , dj’s and record buyers alike. Having collected a countless quantity of records and a vast music knowledge, nurtured over the years, his dj set is an exciting mixture of Detroit tech-soul, deep house and techno, keepin’ an eye firmly on the cohesion between old and new school, to pay tribute to the seminal Chicago house music scene of the eighties and the now legendary sound of Detroit. He recently launched his own label called KINDA SOUL RECORDINGS and a new partnership with Muteoscillator.
