Plàsi, originally Mikael Bitzarakis, was born on the island of Crete with a Greek father but mainly raised in Sweden with his mother where he moved by the age of four. After attending the music school Rytmus, he continued with his studies in Stockholm, Milan, and Vienna his songwriting ignited. His stage name that comes from the Ancient Greek word for creation (πλάση), and the inspiration is found in related acts within the acoustic folk genre, such as José González, Passenger, and The Tallest Man on Earth.

His latest single Mystery was released in May as the lead track on his upcoming EP, due to be released on Nettwerk (Passenger, Angus & Julia Stone, Hollow Coves) this fall. The Swedish-Greek singer/songwriter is characterized by stripped-back productions and deep lyrics about humanity mixed with more personal stories, often surrounded by melancholic atmospheres and calming harmonies.

The first single, Who Are We, got released in April 2016 and got supported by various music blogs before it started spreading on Spotify. In November the same year, the debut EP Now & Then got out, whose lead track got remixed and supported on major playlists and channels. His music started to gain international recognition on streaming platforms already at his debut album People that got out in June 2018, which was followed by two European tours including showcases on festivals such as Iceland Airwaves and Eurosonic, and support shows for Henry Jamison.
