After the Irish rock band Picture This extended their status as hit songwriters with single „Get On My Love“ and followed it up with introspective „Song to Myself“, the ng-awaited fourth studio album entitled „Parked Car Conversations” will be released.
„ Parked Car Conversations” comprises 15 songs that the band have written in the last three years. Many of them, like „Song to Myself“ or “Leftover Love”, illuminate an emotional depth that remained undiscovered on previous albums and present the band, and above all their lyricist and singer Ryan Hennessy, from their most personable and vulnerable side.
The album is a comprehensive retrospective of the singer’s personal hurdles that seemed insurmountable at the time, conveying an unparalleled empathy through the song-writing that immediately makes listeners empathise. The strength of overcoming such situations and the (character) growth from it, is what the 4-piece band sings about on the album to be released in autumn.
The sound of „Parked Car Conversations” lives from the band’s characteristic pop-rock, which always hints at nuances of indie and folk-pop alike fan favourite “Call It Love”. Catchy guitar harmonies combine with melodic hooks and anthemic choruses, which are superbly embellished by Ryan Hennessy’s voice.
„Parked Car Conversations” will be released as CD, LP and ltd. book. The book forms an intimate as well as unique insight into the band’s daily life. From the first small gig to the biggest headline show at 2022’s Electric Picnic, Ireland’s biggest music event where over 70,000 fans witnessed Picture This’ triumphant return. Additionally by giving the reader insight into the studio recordings and video shoots, a complete picture of the band emerges here for the first time, which will connect hardcore fans and newcomers alike even more deeply with the art and show the band more personally than ever.
„Parked Car Conversations” is already showing that it will be the most ambitious work from the down-to-earth quartet, which will easily build on the fans and critics love of their predecessors, all of which reached #1 or #2 in the Irish charts.
But lets not forget that above everything else, the band is best known for their electrifying live shows.
While 2019 marked the highlight of their early touring years by being the first ever band to sell out Dublin’s 3Arena 5 times in a row; 2023 was the first post Covid year that saw the band fully touring again in Europe: Picture This sold out their 7 major European city tour in April in 20 minutes; played 12 of the major festivals and run a 20 date joint headline tour with British singer Tom Gregory all in mainland Europe. Additionally they played 5 sold out UK dates and to a total of 60’000 fans in Ireland alone (2x 3Arena Dublin, 2x SSE Arena Belfast, 2x INEC) while ending the year playing the countdown at Dublin Castle on NYE in Dublin and to a million at home on National TV.
In 2024 Picture This will play their own big summer shows in June back home but will be seen on their own headline club tour outside of Ireland with a Brixton Academy show as the UK’s only show this year.
