NOUVELLE VAGUE PRESENTS AN EXCLUSIVE CREATION DIRECTED BY JEAN-CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC: “DAWN OF INNOCENCE”

Nouvelle Vagues leichte, smarte und mit jeder Menge französischem Charme und Esprit versehene Bossanova-meets-Pop-Interpretationen von Punk und New Wave Klassikern haben im Handumdrehen viele Hörer begeistert und zu Fans gemacht. Unter ihnen der französische Stardesigner Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, der für die beiden Sängerinnen Mareva Galanter und Liset Alea mit ‚Dawn Of Innocence‚ ein Kunst-, Musik- und Fashionprojekt gleichermaßen schuf. Um den Meister selbst zu Wort kommen zu lassen: «The idea was born during a meeting with Marc Collin. I proposed to illustrate 18 mythical and dark songs from the 80’s interpreted by Nouvelle Vague with images, light, shadow and emotions. By directing « Dawn of innocence », I wanted the actors and the public to travel from song to song to the brink of the invisible. « Dawn of innocence » talks of the ghosts of our utopias, of sensuality and spectres as use to film Murnau; I also call upon “History of the eye” by Bataille with the disconcerting interpretation of the two singers, Mareva Galanter and Liset Alea. For my first production, I wanted to create a transversal project where my passions meet: art, music and fashion, with the main bond being the emotion. The dimension of this show is provoked by a collusion of talents: the band Nouvelle Vague, the amazing front women Mareva and Liset, Zula the shadow dancer, Cedric Le Roux the guitar hero… This adventure is for me an open door towards a delectable danger!»

Diese außergewöhnliche Band schließt, ganz ihrem Bandnamen gerecht werdend (Nouvelle Vague = Neue Welle), Vorhersehbarkeit aus. Ein ums andere Mal nehmen Nouvelle Vague den Urfassungen ihre bedeutungsschwangere Schwere und bringen ihnen das Schweben in luftiger Höhe bei – 18 Songs, performed in Outfits von Monsieur Jean-Charles de Castelbajac!
