MASTODON ANNOUNCE EUROPEAN HEADLINE TOUR – NOVEMBER 2017

August 8th, 2017 (Burbank, CA) — Internationally celebrated heavy rock icons Mastodon announce a run of European headline dates, kicking off in Berlin, Germany on November 10. The tour also includes dates in Austria, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, France and, with support from Red Fang and Russian Circles. Fans will also be treated to a guest appearance by longtime friend and collaborator Scott Kelly of Neurosis, who will join the band onstage as part of a special setlist. The band will then return to the UK for a full tour, culminating in a date at London’s legendary Brixton Academy on December 10.

Tickets go on sale August 8th, high noon, local time. Tickets can be purchased at mastodonrocks.com/tour. This will be a special tour- not only does it mark the band’s first European headline tour since 2015, but it will also be the first time Scott Kelly has joined the band for a full run of dates. Kelly has lent guest vocals on several Mastodon songs throughout the band’s career, featuring on every album since 2004’s Leviathan (‘Aqua Dementia’), Blood Mountain’s ‘Crystal Skull’, the title track from Crack The Skye, and on ‘Spectrelight’, ‘Diamond In The Witch House’ and ‘Scorpion Breath’ from The Hunter, Once More ‘Round The Sun and Emperor Of Sand respectively.

Mastodon’s eight studio album Emperor of Sand was released in April and entered Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart at the #1 position, making this not only the best-selling album that week over all other entries, but also the band’s biggest sales debut in their history. Emperor of Sand debuted at the #7 position on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and marked the band’s third consecutive album to enter into the Billboard Top Ten, including Once More ‚Round the Sun (2014) and The Hunter (2011). Emperor Of Sand also gave the band the biggest international debut of their career with first week chart position highs in multiple countries, reaching the Top 10 in Canada (#2), Australia (#3), Finland (#4), Sweden (#5), Norway (#6), Ireland (#7), and New Zealand (#9).
