Die Europa- Tournee von Fernanda Cunha wurde leider abgesagt, aber mit Ana Luiza & Luis Felipe Gama ist es uns gelungen, einen anderen hochkarätigen brasilianischen Act zu buchen.
In 1994, the piano player, composer and arranger Luis Felipe Gama invited the singer/songwriter Ana Luiza to start an artistic work dedicated specially to the Brazilian song, in dialogue with all its references coming from the music of other places, genres and times.
Connecting this work as a composer and lyricist to arrangements of themes from other authors/musicians, the duo has been writing their musical path driven by their artistic sensibility and by rigorousness with which they interpret and articulate masterfully the
different aspects of the song – words, melody, musical freedom, harmony, rhythm, barrangements and instrumentation – is such a way that since their first CD they set up a high standard of inventive and artistic connection, and musical freedom, which approached them to the works of well known artists such as Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque,Ney Matogrosso, the Cuban singer and composer Pablo Milanés, the Portuguese Jazz singer Maria João, and important representatives of the Classical scenery: the guitarist Fabio Zanon, the cellist Gustavo Tavares and the Villa-Lobos Quintet, who also shared with the Duo recordings and shows in Brazil and abroad.
The duo has 4 CDs launched, Ana Luiza (in quartet with electric bass and drums), Linha d’água (in sextet with electric bass, drums, acoustic guitar and trumpet), Entrelaço (in trio with acoustic guitar) and Vermelho (in quartet with acoustic bass and drums).
Luis Felipe Gama and Ana Luiza have performed in Brazil and international tours to Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay, France, Switzerland, Germany and Portugal, on their more than 20 years duo career.
