✡ CONGO NATTY aka. REBEL MC ✡ [ UK ]
In the early 1980s, Congo Natty alias Rebel MC formed the group Double Trouble longside Michael Menson, Karl Brow and Leigh Guest and gained first success with the UK Top 20 hit ‚Just Keep Rockin‘ (Desire, 1989). The follow-up single ‚Street Tuff‘ (1989) was reaching #3 in the UK Singles Chart. The first album, Rebel Music (Desire, 1990), was released shortly after including the popular dance track ‚Better World“. The second album, Black Meaning Good (Desire, 1991), was a complete change of style mixing pop-rap with reggae, hip hop, dance and early jungle, also featuring Barrington Levy, Tenor Fly and Dennis Brown.
In 1992 Rebel MC released the singles“Tribal Bass” on his new formed imprint, Tribal Bass, again reaching #20 in the UK charts. The X Project label followed shortly with the ‚Old School Ting‘ (1993) single, before he released as Conquering Lion, with help from DJ Ron and Jumping Jack Frost, the sound system mash up ‚Lion of Judah/Innah Sound/Dub Plate Special‘ (1993). The singles “Code Red/Phenomenon‘ (longside Supercat, 1994) caught the attention of 4th & Broadway who re-released the track along with ‚Rastaman/Word, Sound and Power/Code Black‘ (1995).
Tribal Bass gradually mutated into Congo Natty, and Rebel MC himself released some material under this name, before settling on the Conquering Lion name. He released the single ‚Junglist‘ (Congo Natty, 2004) under the Rebel MC name, and followed this up with a greatest hits album Born Again (Congo Natty, 2005). In the late ’00s, Congo Natty remixed ‚Land of Promise‘, a track by Nas & Damian Marley. He has come a long way to finally present his album Jungle Revolution (2013), featuring the likes of General Levy, Top Cat, Tippa Irie, Tenor Fly and Nanci Correia.

Tenor Fly [ UK ]
began his career with Lloyd Coxsone’s International Sound System, releasing his debut single, “Roughneck Fashion” in 1989. Both, “Roughneck Fashion” and the follow-up ‘Inner Cities’ hit the top of the UK reggae charts. This led to collaborations with the Ragga Twins, DJ Top Cat, and Rebel MC, releasing ‘Tribal Bass’, ‘Wickedest Sound’ and ‘Coming On Strong’. He has successfully released Ragga Jungle and Drum and Bass singles ever since on labels as Fashion Records, 9 Life Records , and Congo Natty, voicing their tunes with his unique flow.

Jacky Murda [ UK ]
professionally entered the scene and opened up shop as Chopstick Dubplate, voicing and cutting dubplates in 1998 and in 2000 started releasing 10′ records that were recorded, mixed, and cut , all in house. Jacky’s first label, King Kong Sound, released a couple of jungle 10inches by Krinjah and Murda and around ’99 Jacky started recording original vocals on jungle riddims instead of sampling. When the Chopstick Dubplate label was brought out, many well known Jamaican artists were enlisted in the recording of the debut full-length ’21 Murda Shots‘ (2003). In 2006 Jacky started the Little Island project, collaborating in Brighton and Barcelona with UK producer Kion on dubby, deep, rootsy material, which was played at crucial UK dances like DMZ, >>FWD. 2009 marked the creation of the ‚JingBong Ting‘, a live act comprised of Jacky Murda and Max Powa. 2010 he released logside Kion and Errol Dunkley the UK smasher “Dub Cinderella” and since then has not stopped pushing music forward.
