Drummer Marton Juhasz established the ’Playground’ in 2011 with the purpose to create a friendly place where musicians and audience discover jointly the world’s probably most pulsating pieces of music. Together with his musician fellows – all of them being session musicians much in demand in Hungary – they bring jointly the sounds of African cities to Europe with the purpose to reinterpret them in this new environment. They choose their repertoir from more than two thousand recordings. The line-up covers a huge geographical area from Democratic Republic of the Congo,
Nigeria, Benin, Senegal through Mali and many others.
The audience can expect songs with abounding and rhythmical sounding which can bring to every concert the spirit of a traffic jam in Lagos or of a market in Kinshasa. The songs are perfect for dancing due to their strong vibes and pulse.
