Dance On Screen Festival

DANCE ON SCREEN FESTIVAL in its second edition in Graz (AT) presents dance-short-films made by artists from all over the world, that highlight the immediacy of the dance and the movement through the intimacy of the eye’s camera.

Through an international call, the festival selected 17 films from artists coming from 12 different countries and 4 continents: Italy, Austria, Norway, Greece, France, Great Britain, Holland, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Usa, Philippines.
They are showing a huge spectrum of the genre „ScreenDance in the 21° century“.

The two evenings are presenting two different programs, which end with two special-guest films by Marta Renzi (USA) and Hallgrim Hansegård (Norway).
An international Jury will deliver the price DANCE ON SCREEN AWARD 2017 for the best film!

The festival, that is led by Valentina Moar, is accompanied by an open discussion between the public and some of the artists.

Das DANCE ON SCREEN FESTIVAL präsentiert in seiner 2. Edition in Graz Tanz-Kurzfilme internationaler Künstler, die die Unmittelbarkeit von Tanz durch die Intimität des Auges der Kamera hervorheben; Tanzfilme, die ausschließlich für ‚die Kamera‘ getanzt, choreographiert und konzipiert wurden.

In einer internationalen Ausschreibung wurden 17 Filme aus 12 Ländern und 4 Kontinenten ermittelt, die ein breites Spektrum des Genres ‚ScreenDance im 21. Jahrhundert‘ zeigen. Unter den teilnehmenden Filmen befinden sich preisgekrönte Werke, die behandelten Themen drehen sich einerseits um Abstraktes, um assoziative Bilder; andererseits erzählen sie aber auch Geschichten, sind reine Poesie.

An den zwei Abenden mit unterschiedlichem Programm wird von einer internationalen Jury der Gewinner des DANCE ON SCREEN AWARD 2017 ermittelt und je ein Film als SPECIAL GUEST gezeigt – Werke von Marta Renzi aus den USA und Hallgrim Hansegård aus Norwegen.

Begleitet wird das Festival von einer Diskussionsplattform mit den Künstlern und der Festivaljury. Durch das Programm führt Valentina Moar.
