ABOUT CHRISTOPHER JUST:
It’s the summer of ’09 and a thousand people cheer and hands go into the air as the mad piano jabs of Christopher Just’s summer smash ‚Rimini‘ mix sweeps across the crowd. This satisfying reaction is nothing new to the Viennese wunderkind producer/DJ, but now the word is out in the club universe: Christopher is one of the new electronic music superstars to watch. This festival favorite DJ has cracked the charts with his mega-hits ‚I’m a Disco Dancer‘ (Fatboy Slim, Dave Clarke and DJ Hell remixes), his smash ‚Poppers‘ on trend-setting French label Kitsune, and his top-10 German hit production, ‚Domino Dancer‘ by Mel Merio. He has performed alongside such giants as Justice, Scissor Sisters, Paul van Dyke, The Prodigy, Moby, Richie Hawtin, Trentemoller, Debbie Harry and Miss Kitten, and has develop a signature DJ sound that is both unique and deadly effective. With his collaboration album with Mel Merio, his multiple productions on the upcoming ULTRA release Club Badd by Larry Tee, and his just released greatest hits on Sublime/Musicmine, 2009 is the year of Christopher Just.
While growing up in Vienna, in the 90s Christopher Just became a rave DJ star with his early underground rave anthem, ‚Ilsa Gold‘ and his releases on Cheap, Pomelo and Labworks, to name a few. Under the name Punk Anderson, he set off the 80s revival with his naughty, but very successful track, ‚Shave That Pussy‘. His first album release in the USA, ‚Jeans & Electronic‘, came out on Woody McBride’s label Test Tube. Soon after Gigolo Records released his now legendary ‚I’m A Disco Dancer‘ which quickly became one of the biggest selling Gigolo hits and one of the first tracks to herald the late 90s electro revival (it’s just been licensed for an upcoming major movie ‚Tempo‘). He has produced hits like ‚Glamour Girl‘ with frequent callaborators The Chicks on Speed, ‚Popper‘ and ‚Disco 128‘ (also released on Superstar Germany) from his first solo album, ‚Roland Flick Fairmont Princess #1527‘, and ‚Charleston‘ on Combination Recs.
Just has remixed Paul Van Dyke, Yello, Divine, Pulp, Stereo Total and Bobby Orlando to name a few and has productions credits with uber-cool New York rapper Roxy Cottontail, transexual legend Amanda LePore, the upcoming song about supermodel ‚Agyness Deyn‘ with UK vocalist Jodie Harsh set for a UK single release. All that and coming soon: a sophisticated new album with his girlfriend Mel Merio. One song from that collection, ‚Hipster Girl‘, is being released as a single with #1 US dance label ULTRA in the spring.
