Seit 1991 hat das innovative Quartett aus Maryland, USA, immer wieder die Grenzen des Rock ’n’ Roll überschritten – und Clutch weichen bis heute in keinster Weise von ihrem Weg ab. „If you’re not learning then you’re retiring,‘ erklärt Neil. ‚You’ve got to take risks to learn, and there’s always something to learn. When you go to your grave, you’re only going to have learned a fraction of what’s truly out there. This record isn’t so far flung from our other albums and, as far as the spectrum of rock music goes, it’s not alien. Nevertheless, if we repeated one formula that would be a slow death.‘

Rock, Punk, Bluesrock, treibende Gitarrenriffs, bombastische Funk Beats und der für Sänger Neil Fallon so typische Gesang sind es, was Clutch ausmachen. Hammondorgel und Mundharmonika dürfen dabei nicht fehlen. Live nehmen Clutch auf jeden Fall jegliche Bühne in Beschlag und versetzen ihr Publikum in Extase – es ist ganz einfach: „We want people feel to like they saw a rock concert“…Stonerrock vom Feinsten!!!
 

Mit ihrem mittlerweile neunten Studioalbum „Strange Cousins from the West“ verschlägt es die Band endlich auf eine heimische Konzertbühne – HELL YEAHHH! Pflicht!!!
