Wonder Coast (SWE- Garage/Rock/Indie)
“Garagerock Serenades” with distinctive riffs, melodies and with lyrics that could be taken from the movie American Graffiti if it had taken place in their little hometown Ronneby, Sweden.
The Hollström brothers, Dennis (Vocals and Guitar) and Jonas (Vocals and Guitar), formed the band together with Patrik Johansson (Bass &Choir) and Leo Lillsked (Drums) last year in the dissolution of their old band.
The band has previously gone under the name The Shy Lads and got attention by Swedens biggest musicblog PSL, they also played on festivals in Sweden and on clubs and festivals in Europe.
They recorded ten songs last summer in Dennis Johanssons studio, guitar-tech for The Hives and The Cardigans. It was produced by Ludwig Böss, former guitarist of Band of Horses. The songs are mixed by Stefan Kvarnstrom (who has previously worked with Franz Ferdinand). The songs will end up on their debut album with the album title ‘Keep Sleeping On The Beach’. Candice Gordon (IRL – Folk/Pop/Rock)
Candice Gordon ist eine junge Songwriterin aus Irland mit südafrikanischen Wurzeln. Spielt sie solo, klingt es nach düsterem Folk-Blues mit einer gehörigen Portion Punk, mit Ihrer Band „Candy andtheCreeps“ rasseln die Songs mit einer ordentlichen Schüppe Rockabilly aus den Lautsprechern.
Jung an Jahren ist sie aber bereits ausgiebig durch Irland und Großbritannien getourt, u.a. eröffnete Candice für Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers) und Steve Harley. Mit Größen wie Shane MacGowan (The Pogues) und Mike Mills (REM) hat sie bereits Songs aufgenommen und sich mit einem Song im Hollywood Film „Leap Year“ verewigt.
Beeinflusst von einer ganzen Reihe verschiedener Stile von Punk bis hin zu klassischer Musik, ist ihr Debütalbum irgendwo zwischen PJ Harvey und Tom Waits, Janis Joplin und Patti Smith einzuordnen.
