Fences

Fences is the indierock project of Christopher Mansfield. Honesty is Chris Mansfield’s most powerful tool. He pours his everything into writing songs as Fences, musical missives that hold a mirror up his foibles, his heart, his hurt, and his confusion. His songs document experiences.

Christopher was first discovered by Sara Quin of Tegan & Sara, who went on to produce his debut-album Fences.
Following the release, Fences did support tours for punk band Against Me! and indiepop band Hellogoodbye. Soon, he also caught the attention of Macklemore. Mansfield ended up collaborating with him on Otherside and co-wrote Ten Thousand Hours from Macklemore’s breakthrough album The Heist.

His second album Lesser Oceans was released in 2015 through Elektra Records. Production of the album was handled by Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie, Ryan Lewis and Jacquire King. Lead single Arrows ft Macklemore became a major hit.

Chris is currently working on his 3rd album.
